Corner Trims, Bullnose Edges, Fascia Boards and End Caps offer the perfect finishing touch to complete your decking. All made from the same composite material as our decking boards to seamlessly match the rest of your decking and team with our decking balustrade for a stylish finish.

Thank you - quality product! So far I have had a very good experience all round with Dino Decking. Ordering the product was very simple and sales staff were very friendly and accommodating for our expedited delivery request. Myself and our decking installers were happy with the quality of the product they were installing. The price was also very reasonable - approximately 1/3 to 1/2 cheaper than other comparable product samples that we had before making our decision to go with Dino. Thanks again!

Absolutely brilliant service, thank you. Sample pack came the next day. My questions were answered on the phone, patiently! Order came as promised. Driver friendly and helpful. One item was missing from order but after a phone call it was in the post and received a few days later, no questions. Product looks great, I am in the process of fitting - it is simple enough even for a DIYer!

Composite Decking FAQs

What Are Dino Composite Decking Boards Made Of?

To make our slip-resistant decking boards, we use a blend of three high-quality materials, including 55% recycled wood, 40% HDPE (high-density polyethylene), and 5% additives. Please note that the composition of our decking boards can vary slightly for each colour due to the additives that had to be used to achieve the colour.

There are many advantages to choosing composite decking boards over traditional wood. For starters, they are much more durable and long-lasting. For instance, your composite decking boards will not rot or decay over time, which will very much be the case if you opt for their wooden counterparts. Composite decking boards also require minimal upkeep, often involving just basic sweeping and washing using a garden hose or a pressure washer. When it comes to wooden decking boards, you regularly need to stain, seal, and treat them to prevent rotting and decay. Other advantages include:
  • They’re slip-resistant, anti-mould, and anti-splinter
  • They’re more cost effective over the long term
  • They’re lighter and easier to install
  • They come in multiple colours
To give you an example, at Dino Decking, we have white, black, and grey composite decking boards – among many others that you can choose from. What’s more is that composite decking boards look exactly like their wooden counterparts, so you won’t be sacrificing the visual appeal of your garden by choosing the more environmentally friendly option. This allows you to bring your composite decking ideas to life without compromising on aesthetics. That’s why our customers also opt for composite garden trellis for their plants rather than garden trellis made out of wood.

Composite decking offers several advantages over traditional wood decking. It requires significantly less maintenance, as it doesn’t need to be sanded, stained, or treated to prevent issues like rotting and warping. With a longer lifespan, composite decking typically lasts 20–30 years, compared to wood, which usually lasts around 10–15 years.

It is also more durable, resisting fading, scratching, staining, and mould. Additionally, some composite decking is environmentally friendly, as it is made from recycled materials. Available in a variety of colours, it eliminates the need for painting or staining to match your home’s exterior. Recent advancements in technology have even led to some manufacturers producing composite decking with a hard plastic shell for added durability.

A solid and well-prepared base is essential to ensure proper support and longevity for composite decking. Typically, you would start with a decking frame made of pressure-treated wood, composite joist or aluminium joist to provide structural stability. Beneath the framework, a ground layer of gravel or crushed stone is often used to improve drainage and prevent water buildup, which helps avoid moisture problems. In some cases, a weed barrier fabric is also installed to prevent plant growth under the deck. Proper ventilation and drainage are important to maintain the deck’s durability over time.

Similarly to our line of composite fencing products, which are made from the same materials, cleaning and maintaining your composite decking boards is very quick and easy.

To take care of your composite decking boards, all you need to use is a brush to sweep away any debris and a garden hose or a pressure washer to remove the build up of any stubborn dirt and grime. If you want, you can also use soapy water to aid you in the cleaning process.

During the first 6 months, it is completely normal for your decking boards to lose up to 30% of their original colour before stabilising to their final colour.

As far as staining is concerned, it is also possible, especially from foreign substances such as chemicals from a hot tub. If you’d like to minimise the risk of staining, we recommend that you opt for our premium range decking boards as opposed to the ones from our classic range.

The reason being is that they are all finished with our water-resistant Dino Shield polymer sleeve, which offers exceptional stain and weather resistance all while preserving the natural aesthetics of timber.

Yes, they are. The primary materials used in the creation of our decking boards are recycled wood and recycled waste plastic. So, to create your decking boards, we didn’t have to chop down any fresh timber and negatively impact our environment.

You will want to coordinate the colour, material, and design elements between your decking and composite fencing for a cohesive look. Matching tones or complementary contrasts work well, while accents like lighting and landscaping can tie everything together. This is why we offer matching colours in our composite fencing and composite cladding ranges.
