Ordered Aluminium joists -very good price, and quickly delivered.
They worked well for spanning an old pond with a mid way support, easy to fix to with the self drilling screws supplied.
Generally the experience was good!!……….just one problem really!: PACKAGING!!!…the packaging surrounding the aluminium “joists” had far too much plastic in it……….really all that was needed was corrugated paper around them with tape!!………….ALL of us really do need to do our bit for this planet of ours!!……….its one of those things that could put me off buying other items!! (OR RECOMENDING) THANK YOU!!
Overall it’s a good decking board. Brilliant aluminium joists. I think wrong pedestals was delivered, it’s look like they are for composite joists, but I’ve ordered for aluminium. Still, I’ve managed to fix it easily. With a strength of boards would recommend to do max 350mm centres between joists. It was hard for me to get information about delivery date and time. But it was excellent communication from driver, also help me with moving stuff around 10+.
Sample box and brochure was very helpful in planning my decking and ordering it.As I was putting my decking over an old patio, I chose pedestals and aluminium joists.There is a gap in the sizes of the pedestals,which was a size I needed quite a few of. I overcame this by packing up some smaller size ones and cutting down some larger ones. This was an annoying waste of time,but got all the joists at the right levels in the end.The decking goes down easily with the hidden fixings and screws and looks great. It would be helpful to keen diyers like myself to have a bit more instruction and helpful notes, especially for the balustrades.
