Benefits of Anti Slip Decking

The most obvious benefit of anti-slip decking is that it can help reduce the risk of slips and falls in wet areas, such as your patio and balcony or around your pool and jacuzzi. Aside from that, our composite anti slip decking boards are also extremely durable, long-lasting and require little to no maintenance – making them perfect for the unpredictable weather conditions of the UK. Some other notable benefits of Dino’s line of anti-slip decking boards include:

What’s more is that our specific anti-slip decking boards come with a 10-year warranty – giving you an extra layer of protection and peace of mind.

How to Choose the Right Slip-resistant Decking

Choosing the right slip-resistant decking for your outdoor area is easier said than done. The first thing we recommend is that you measure the area you want to cover so you know exactly how many decking boards you’ll need. For reference, our anti-slip decking boards measure 4000mm (L) x 145mm (W) x 21mm (D).

Once you know roughly how many decking boards you need, you need to decide what aesthetic you’re going for. At Dino Decking, we have 11 different colour options across our classic and premium anti-slip decking range, including Savanna, Mocha, Ash, Graphite, Sage Green, and White Onyx, to name a few.

Whether you already know what aesthetic you’re going for or still need some time to decide, before you place your order, we recommend that you order a free sample pack. That way, you will get to see what your outdoor area can look and feel like before you spend your hard-earned money.

Good speedy service, ordered on Tuesday and delivered on Wednesday by a very helpful driver. I am very happy with the finished result and it is great in wet weather as it has a good non-slip surface, I have already passed on my sample box to a neighbour for them to review for their forthcoming project.

Great value and quality products, I searched to find a better deal and I couldn’t, delivery in around 10 days, second order placed to extend my original project, about to order again for my own home as this is great! Real plus point is the non slip when wet!! Absolutely no issues when it was soaked, yet I slipped on my own traditional timber deck

Anti-slip Decking Installation and Maintenance Tips

Both the classic and premium range of anti-slip decking boards are easy to install and maintain. If you’d like to learn more about them in regards to installation and maintenance, keep reading.

Installation Tips

To install your Dino composite decking boards, the first thing you need to do is get the right set of tools and equipment. We recommend that you pick up PPE, tape measure, circular saw, 60-80 tooth blade, mitre saw, screwdriver, mallet, hammer, and an electric drill. Having all of this equipment at hand will not only keep you safe during the installation process but it’ll make the job far easier. Once you have all of the above-mentioned tools and equipment, start planning out the layout of your slip-resistant deck. This will help you make easily avoidable mistakes and increase your chances of finishing the project successfully and on time. When the layout plan is finalised, clear up the decking area of any dust, leaves, and debris and level it out if needed. Then, read our how to install composite decking guide before beginning. It’ll tell you everything you need to know to properly install our anti-slip decking boards.

Maintenance Tips

Similar to our composite fencing, maintaining our anti-slip decking boards is extremely easy. The only thing you need to do is regularly clean them from any dust, leaves, and debris. And that’s not to protect them but to enjoy their beautiful aesthetic. You can do that with a standard brush or with a garden hose/pressure washer. You don’t need to buy any specialised tools or equipment, use potentially harmful chemicals, or have to dedicate time to seal and protect the decking boards, or fix cracks and splinters. To clean hard to remove stains you can try our composite decking cleaner.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Materials Are Available for Slip-resistant Decking?

The best materials for slip-resistant deck boards are a blend of wood and plastic. That is what Dino’s anti-slip decking boards are made out of and our customers couldn’t be more satisfied with their visual appeal, low maintenance, and how great they work in wet environments. Alternative materials that are available for anti-slip decking include PVC, Aluminium, Rubber, Concrete, and Fiberglass, to name a few.

Slip-resistant decking boards are most commonly made out of composite materials. As a result, rather than having a flat and smooth surface, they can be engineered to have a textured surface that can greatly improve grip, especially in wet conditions.

That’s exactly what we’ve done with Dino’s line of anti-slip decking boards, which are made from a blend of 55% recycled wood, 40% HDPE, and 5% additives.

Yes, they are. Dino’s composite decking boards are constructed from a unique blend of materials, which make the boards extremely weather resistant. Whether they’re exposed to heavy rain or snowfall, extreme heat, or direct sunlight – you can rest assured that they will continue to perform as intended for years to come.

The exact maintenance process that you’ll need to follow will depend on what your high grip decking boards are made out of. If you opt for anti-slip timber decking boards, their maintenance requirements are quite extensive. To keep them visually appealing and functional, you’d have to regularly seal or stain the decking to protect it from moisture and UV damage, check and repair any visible damage, and more.

When it comes to Dino’s composite slip-resistant decking boards, you don’t need to do any of the above. When you feel like it, you can grab a brush and sweep away any debris or leaves from the decking. If there’s a build-up of stubborn dirt and grime, you can use your garden hose or pressure washer on a low setting to clean the decking. That’s it.

Yes, you can. While we can’t speak about the products of other decking board companies, our line of products is relatively easy to install, which is why a large chunk of our customers end up installing their anti-slip decking without the help of a professional.
